How Lotus Femcare researches, writes, reviews and updates its content, and how we handle sources, corrections and commercial relationships
This page sets out how content on Lotus Femcare is researched, written, checked and updated. It applies to every article on the site.
Every article is written by a named person with a profile page on this site. We do not publish anonymous content, and we do not use a generic team byline.
Where an article makes a health or science claim, we work from primary and reputable secondary sources, in roughly this order of preference:
We do not treat brand marketing material, influencer claims or other blogs as sources.
Where evidence is limited or mixed, we say so. Where a traditional practice has limited research behind it but is widely used, we describe it as exactly that rather than presenting it as proven or dismissing it outright.
All content in our Women’s Wellness section, and any article elsewhere on the site that discusses a health condition, medication, symptom or physiological process, is reviewed by an MBBS doctor before publication. The reviewer’s name and review date appear on the article. See our Medical Review Policy for the full process.
We buy the products we review with our own money. We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, and we do not allow brands to see, approve or edit a review before it goes live. Where a product has been sent to us free of charge, the article says so at the top.
Affiliate links do not influence our recommendations, our rankings or our verdicts. Full detail is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Skincare and haircare information changes — formulations get reformulated, products get discontinued, and research moves on. We review our most-read articles at least once a year and update them when needed. Substantially updated articles carry a “Last updated” date.
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say that we have. Minor typographical fixes are made silently. Any correction that changes the meaning of an article is noted at the foot of that article with the date and a short description of what changed.
To report an error, email info@lotusfemcare.com with the page link and, if possible, a source.
No advertiser, affiliate partner or brand has any influence over what we cover or what we conclude. We regularly recommend inexpensive products over expensive ones, and we regularly tell readers that a product category is not worth their money. That will not change.
