About us. Our story.

Why we started, what we believe, and how we work to make hair and skin care information clearer for Indian women.

Why Lotus Femcare?

Lotus Femcare is a hair and skin care publication for women in India.

We started with a fairly ordinary observation. Almost every woman we knew had tried something for her hair or skin because a relative recommended it, a video suggested it, or a shop assistant insisted on it. Very few had tried something because there was reasonable evidence behind it. And the gap between those two things was causing real harm — burnt skin from lemon juice, worsening acne from toothpaste, months lost to hair oils when the actual problem was thyroid or iron levels.

There is no shortage of beauty content in India. There is a shortage of beauty content that tells you when something will not work.

The Story Behind Lotus Femcare

Lotus Femcare began with a simple realisation during Anjali Verma’s medical studies. Women were making hair and skin decisions based on home remedies and advice from family friends and social media without checking the evidence.

She kept seeing the same problems. Some remedies made skin problems worse. Some women spent months treating hair fall with oils when the real cause needed medical attention. Others used products without knowing the risks.

Anjali started Lotus Femcare to help women find clear and useful information about hair and skin care. The content is written for Indian women and health related articles are reviewed by MBBS doctors before publication.

Our goal is simple. Tell women what can help what may not help and when it is better to see a doctor.

Founder Message

Hi, I’m Anjali.

I created Lotus Femcare after seeing how confusing hair and skin information can be for women. There is so much advice online and so little clear information that is based on evidence.

As a medical student and a woman I wanted to create a place where you can find clear and useful guidance for your hair, skin and everyday health.

“My goal is simple. To bring science closer to you in a way that feels easy to understand and useful. You deserve clear information you can trust.”

Anjali Verma
